Confidentiality
Guidelines
The therapist-client relationship is sacred. I am bound by ethical and legal guidelines to maintain confidentiality in all cases except for the following:
- If you are in danger of hurting yourself or others, I will need to inform others to ensure the safety of all.
- If there is suspected child or elderly abuse, I am mandated by law to inform authorities.
- If you are involved in any legal proceedings, there may be instances where a court issues a subpoena requesting your file or requiring a statement about your treatment.
In these cases, I may need to disclose certain necessary information. As appropriate, I will make every effort to inform you before any mandated breach of confidentiality.
Cell phones
Please be aware that I use my cellular phone to communicate with clients. This means that, although interception is unlikely, I cannot ensure absolute confidentiality while on the phone.
Telehealth
Virtual sessions are held through Doxy.me. Doxy.me is a HIPPA compliant platform.
